Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 November 2026

1. Who we are

ILLUMISCENE is a UK live-production company. We are responsible for the personal information we use to manage our mailing list and respond to enquiries. Contact steve@illumiscene.co.uk with questions about our handling of personal information or to request further controller details.

2. Information supplied through the website

The mailing-list form collects your first name and email address. It records the signup date and time, the page where you signed up, your marketing consent, the date and version of that consent, your subscription status and any unsubscribe date. A private unsubscribe token allows you to stop future marketing without an account. We prevent duplicate registrations for the same email address.

There is currently no website contact form. If you email us, we receive your email address and the message and any details you choose to include. Please do not send unnecessary sensitive information. Administrator accounts also use authentication and permission records to restrict access to the mailing list.

Limited technical information may be processed to operate and protect the website. Our signup service temporarily uses a hashed connection identifier to limit repeated submissions; it does not store the raw IP address in the subscriber record. Hosting and authentication services may process connection and security logs as part of providing their services.

3. How and why we use information

We use mailing-list information to manage consented subscriptions and send updates about ILLUMISCENE productions, venue announcements and priority ticket releases. Our lawful basis for marketing is your consent. The checkbox is not pre-selected, and you may withdraw consent at any time.

We use enquiry information to respond to you and, where relevant, take steps at your request before entering a contract or fulfil a contract. We may also rely on legitimate interests in handling general correspondence, keeping accurate records and protecting our services, while taking account of your rights. Legal obligations may require certain records to be retained.

Security and administrator access are used to prevent misuse and protect personal information, based on our legitimate interests in operating a secure service. We do not use the mailing list for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Marketing, withdrawal and unsubscribe

Joining the list is optional. Registration shows an on-screen confirmation; it is not a ticket purchase and does not guarantee priority ticket availability. This website stores and manages subscriptions; no marketing-email delivery service is currently connected.

Future marketing emails should provide your personal unsubscribe link. Following that link and confirming unsubscribe marks your record unsubscribed and records the date. You can also withdraw consent or ask us to unsubscribe you by emailing steve@illumiscene.co.uk. We will not include unsubscribed contacts in active-subscriber exports.

An existing unsubscribed address is not automatically reactivated by another form submission. Contact us if you wish to subscribe again so that fresh consent can be established. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before consent was withdrawn.

5. Ticketing and external websites

This website currently links to event information and does not collect payment-card details or host a ticket checkout. If an external ticket provider is linked in future, information you supply there will be processed under its own privacy arrangements and any organiser notice shown during booking.

Where Ticket Tailor processes ticket purchases, read Ticket Tailor’s applicable privacy information as well as the organiser’s booking notice. We do not currently send mailing-list registrations to Ticket Tailor. Facebook links and other external websites operate under their own terms and privacy notices.

6. Service providers and sharing

Lovable Cloud provides the database and authentication used for the mailing-list back office. Only authorised administrators may access subscriber records. Approved exports contain subscriber and consent information and a personal unsubscribe link, and must be handled securely and used only for appropriate purposes.

We may share information with service providers necessary to operate our services, with professional advisers where needed, or with authorities where legally required. We do not sell the mailing list. A future email-delivery provider will need appropriate data-protection arrangements before subscriber information is provided to it; this notice will be updated if our processing materially changes.

7. Cookies, browser storage and analytics

This website does not currently include advertising pixels or a separately configured audience-analytics service in its application. We do not use marketing signup as consent for tracking. Administrator sign-in uses essential browser storage to maintain the authentication session. Operational hosting or security processes may also use necessary technical information.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts; your browser contacts that service to retrieve them, which can disclose technical connection information to Google. No subscriber names or email addresses are sent to Google Fonts by the signup form.

If non-essential cookies or analytics are added, we will provide information and obtain consent where required before activating them. Your browser settings can control cookies and site storage; disabling essential authentication storage may prevent administrator sign-in.

8. Retention and security

We retain active subscriber details while consent remains valid and the list is in use, subject to periodic review. When you unsubscribe, limited information may be retained to record the withdrawal, prevent unwanted re-subscription and demonstrate compliance. You may ask for deletion; where a limited record must be retained for a lawful reason, we will explain that reason.

Enquiries, administrator records and security information are retained for as long as reasonably necessary for their purpose, any associated dispute and applicable legal requirements. We do not promise a fixed retention period that has not been established.

We use restricted administrator access, authenticated management functions, database permissions and secure service connections. No internet service is completely risk-free. Administrators must protect accounts and downloaded lists and must not share credentials.

9. International transfers

Providers may process technical or service data outside the UK. Where our use involves an international transfer of personal data, applicable UK data-protection requirements must be met, such as adequacy arrangements or appropriate contractual safeguards where necessary. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your information; we do not claim that all processing takes place exclusively in the UK.

10. Your rights and complaints

Under UK data-protection law, you may have rights to access your information, correct inaccurate information, request erasure, restrict processing, object to certain processing and receive portable information where applicable. These rights depend on the circumstances and the lawful basis. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time.

Send access, correction, deletion or unsubscribe requests to steve@illumiscene.co.uk. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity before disclosing or changing personal data. We aim to respond within the applicable legal timeframe, normally one month, and will explain any lawful extension or restriction.

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We welcome the opportunity to address your concerns first. This notice will be updated when our website or data use changes materially.
